Shahid Madany Hospital, Center of cardiovascular surgery specialty, was established by Dr. Abbasali Daneshvar, father of Iran’s new hart surgery, in Tabriz - Iran in 1969. Later called National Heart Center.

First open heart surgery, mitral valve grafting in a woman, named Ghazal (Fig.1), was done successfully in Iran in 7 of November in 1969.

 During current years, Shahid Madany Hospital, the biggest and best equipped Center of Cardiovascular surgery specialty in the North West of the country, provided different services in patient treatment and training and education of medical students in heart surgery, in specialty level. This center has significant role in health promotion and is center of excellence in research, education and treatment in the country.  

 Now, the center by Skilled faculty members in cardiovascular specialty and staffs with 254 Beds, 6 Operating rooms, 5 Angiographies, Heart Emergency Department, Cardiovascular Specialty Clinic, ICU, CCU, Pediatric Heard Ward, Cardiac inpatient Ward, Heart Surgery Ward, Cardiac Rehabilitation, EECP, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture,  Electro diagnosis, Specialty Respiratory lab, Echocardiography, Pacemaker Clinic, Imaging Unit, Endoscopy, Dialysis, provide multiple services to the patient in national and regional level.
